Response to two colleagues' posts about what they have learned.

After reading Jahai's post, the most important thing he has read was, "The literature we read from class I learned that William Faulkner, the author of the story "A rose for Emily" the way Faulkner describes certain things that make them an important element in the story." This is something that I also learned, well as far as the important elements in a story. At first when we read this story, everyone had a general explanation for it, which wasn't what was actually going on in the story. Most of us read it just because without any real information or any information that was very significant. I'm glad that afterwords, we were able to understand the story and its true elements.
Thomas and I both learned the same thing as far as readings goes. He mentioned in his post, "From this class I learned how to analyze and break down readings better". This was actually more important to me than the writing part because I believe that if I can understand a poem, story, or play better, then writing about it would be a piece of cake.

The most important thing I learned in this class from the literature we read

The most important thing I have learned was how to actually read literature, I haven't been actually looking at the big picture while reading literature and have been missing out on important information such as dates, setting, chanter's names, and the reason behind the story. While reading poems and plays, I would just read it as if it was just any old story, but I learned that it actually had meaning to it, and not just any old meaning, but a very significant one. I also learned how to write about literature. Instead of taking information from websites, I was able to take them from the book itself. I was also able to see the bigger picture within that and explain why I choose a certain agreement and giving sources from the book to back it up.

Comparing and contrasting your post to two colleagues' posts about women in modern family life.

In Akeryah's post, she said that "The role of women in modern family life is more on being independent". I completely agree with that statement because women today, do not depend on their boyfriends, let alone their husband's. Do not get me wrong some may, but even with that, they can be independent. It isn't as if they are trapped. Women can play any role they choose, which causes them to be inexpedient. Women are respected more now since their expectations have risen and they now feel superior and as equal to men.
After reading LoKnos's post, he said, " The average woman in this day in age have their own job, car and even most occasions their own house. It wasn't like this in the early 1900s, women barely had any rights & now that they do, they take advantage of them." Things have changed for the better and I believe that everyone knows that, and possibly may even like it that way. Most men of today love independent women, no one wants a needed dependent person any more. In this society, women have "back bones" and are not afraid to stand up for what is right, they can do pretty much anything a man can.

Role of women in modern family life

The role of a woman in a modern family is to get up, wake the children, fix breakfast, if not cereal, make sure the children get on the bus, and then go to work. It is different now, women no longer have to obey they old school norms of the past. Most women just work and its up to the children to get themselves up, depending on their age. Women cook still, but it is not their main job nor is cleaning. Women may do these things because they like to have to or because they are a mother and a wife and its just something you do, but they also go to work and they could make more than their husbands, they can also work more than their husbands. The world has changed and so have modern women.

Plot of my favorite movie

My favorite movie is The Losers. I like this movie because it is funny and has tons of action in it. My favorite genera is horror films but I have not taken on a favorite horror film yet. Action and comedy fall second on my genera list, which makes  The Losers my favorite movie. The movie consist of three actors such as, ZoĆ« Saldana, Chris Evans, Idris Elba, and Columbus Short. There isn't any spectacular reason to why I love this movie, it just simply satisfies all the things that I would enjoy in a movie, especially in an action movie. The movie is about 5 members of an elite U.S. Special Forces unit sent into the Bolivian jungle on a search and destroy mission. The protagonist, Clay and his team, Jensen, Rogue, Pooch and Cougar, find themselves the target of a lethal betrayal instigated from inside by a powerful enemy known as antagonist, Max. Presumed dead, the group makes plans to even the score when they're joined by Aisha. Working together, they must remain deep undercover while tracking Max. The movie may sound a pit serious, but trust me it is super funny. Of course, in some senses, the cast is rather serious and there aren't any jokes being told, but the overall movie is funny. I rarely watch this movie because I don't want to play it out, therefore I only watch it every blue moon. Well since I am talking about it, I mine as well watch it after this class!

Setting of your favorite TV show and what the setting means for the show.

The setting of my favorite TV show takes place in New York. The setting, I believe, represents success and how people can come up in the world. when people look at New York they would think of fame, culture, and about its significance. Empire is a TV show that takes place in New York, and that setting fits the description of fame and success. So, all in all the New York setting means fame and success for the TV as well as coming up from a rural area, to the big apple!

What develops a metaphor about what you think about poetry

A metaphor about what I think about poetry would be in agreement with Ruth Forman, that poetry should be apart of a person's everyday life and that it comes natural. Poetry to me, is a girl watching the sunset and reflecting. Or perhaps a man getting a cup of coffee and all of a sudden bumps into a women, and love starts up. Property is the simple things in life that seem ordinary, but they have deeper meanings then what most people would think. Poetry can be plenty of things but for me, poetry is everywhere we go and it is in our everyday lives already.
