Using Google Drive in the college class

I actually like using Google Drive for my documents because it beats using a flash drive or having to email my work to myself. Using Google is faster and easy to navigate from one thing to the next. It is better than using word because I am able to share my documents with Mr. Hamon which is easier for both of us instead of emailing or printing it out. I most definitely will be using Google drive even beyond this class.

Using a wiki in the class

Using a wiki in the class was very different because I was always told that I should not refer to Wikipedia for anything because anyone can edited things on there. Even though that is true I learned that a person would have to use references and that people can not just put any type of information on a Wikipedia nor can they put their opinion on there. I didn't think that using Wikipedia would be as semi-easy as it was because when I looed at other articles it would be full if information with tons of references and I figured that would be a difficult thing to accomplish, however, I was wrong. once I figured it out it was easy and I would not mind editing another Wikipedia article.

Using blogging in the college class

Using blogging in English 1101 has actually made me okay with work. blogging is essential because for me, it keeps me from complaining about the work. I rather blog and write three essays throughout the year rather than write a million essays because I did that in high school and I like a switch up. In regular English classes all students do is write a bunch of essays that no one cares about but in this class blogging is based off of my opinion and that it isn't a right or wrong answer. Blogging has taught me how to voice my own opinion and to write about my experiences and express my thoughts. I never knew that I would enjoy an English class as much as I do. Blogging, isn't just writing a few things down to get it done, it motivates me into actually wanting to do it instead of complaining and being frustrated with it.

Post about 2 of your colleagues' posts about the above issues

It turns out that most of my classmates are pro peer review. As stated in my blog post about peer review, almost all of my classmates seemed pleased with it and that there is only 100% positivity in peer view. Rachael said, "I enjoy the peer review because it helps me with finding my mistakes that I did not see the first time." Alexis said, " I enjoyed getting advice from my classmates on what i could do to improve my essay & i enjoyed giving them advice on what they could do to improve theirs as well." These statements are positive and after reading their post there was not any negatives to it. I am not saying that they should have included a negative because some people may not take peer view to be negative in any way, but I am saying that after reading their post, I can argue that peer view can also be a crutch. Not that it is a cutch to Rachael or Alexis but at times, one can see peer view used in that way.
Aside from peer review, lets talk about Doc 3. I know a lot of my classmates are struggling with doc 3 because the assignment includes an argument part, which, after listening to everyone complain and smack their teeth, I know that the argument part of the assignment is the hardest. I do agree to that because I even had trouble with the argument part of the assignment. Even though that part may have been rather difficult, most of my classmates choose topics that they really enjoy, which helped them to stay on task, for instances, Joseph said, " I get off task easy unless it's something i really enjoy doing, and this article was about hunting and a organization that has done a lot for me." Others, like Alexus, learned from her doc 3. She said, " My biggest problem was procrastination. That's what hindered me the most because I found myself putting working on my assignment off to a later date, which was a bad thing for me to do. " She knew he weakness and learned from it, which made her able to correct that mistake. Doc 3 was a bit more difficult than the other documents, however, it was something that we can all learn from and enjoy doing as well, if we chose a topic that best fits us.

Post about the peer review process. Talk about giving and receiving peer advice

I think that the peer review process has its advantages and disadvantages. I believe that it is effective because it allows students to help others without having to be in their face and advice is given as well as ideas. The disadvantages that it came bring is that someone may not know what they are doing and give the wrong advice, students could rely on someone to correct their entire paper and probably not even understand why what was corrected needed to be corrected in the first place, or students could take advice from the person who is reviewing their work and just go with their ideas without even thinking for themselves, just to get the assignment done. It may seem as if there are more advantages than disadvantage, but I think helping and guiding your classmates counts as more than just one thing because that can lead to a difference in that students paper and it can also teach them why their mistakes were mistakes. Guidance is the spark of the peer review process, which is also an advantage.

Post about writing my Doc3, especially about what helped or hindered you to stay on task.

Doc 3 was kind of "iffy" because the assignment was to take the article form Wikipedia that should have already been completed, and then write a 1200 word essay, Doc 3, setting up an opinion and arguing about why you are right. My topic was a horror movie, and of course people can have an argument about horror films being amazing or not. I stumbled a bit on this one because I thought the assignment was just based off of my opinion, which made me have to go back and add an argument to it. I also had to described he movie because how would a person who has not seen it know what it is about. If a person can not determine what the movie is about then how could they take my side and say, "yes, this is a good horror film," the thing is, they won't be able to. So, I began with an argument, then described the movie, and then I wrapped it up  with a final argument.

Open choice: Finals

Okay guys, finals are approaching and you are probably freaked out. I think I can help out with all the stress that is here or here to come. This advice isn't new, but if you study in more frequent smaller sessions, then you will not have to cram in December. I know everyone wants to enjoy their thanksgiving break, but you have to realize that finals won't exist anymore just because you feel you need a break. So, I suggest that you start now. Starting today would help you to become more organized with all of you  work and be able to study all subjects. Note that your study sessions should be a review, if not then you will try to "relearn" everything, which would take up too much time. If you really need to relearn some information I advise you to get a tutor so that he or she can give you a run down of everything. last but not least try to make your own study guide of questions that you do not know, so that you can work on them and not waist time answering questions that you know you already know. Good luck guys!

Identify your favorite blog from this course and explain why it was your favorite

My favorite blog from this course was the all about me post. I enjoyed writing it because I like to talk about myself. I thought that it was a good idea to get to know my classmates and for them to get to know me. I mentioned that, "I talk a lot once you get to know me other than that I may be quiet. I am considered a nerd but that's okay because nerds always wins! Well that's all about me, I look forward to knowing about all of you," which opened up a conversation with 22 comments that allowed me to get to know my classmates. The other post were mainly about other things, but this one was about me, therefore, the blog post was interesting.

How I revise my documents

When I am revising my documents I read over the paper and make sure that the grammar is correct. I also try to make sure the paper makes sense and add any extra information that is necessary for the paper. The main thing that I always do is correct sentences and try to use more educated words within my paper. I would also ask my professor to read over my paper, that way I would know exactly what needs to be corrected.

1 post analyzing 2 posts from my colleagues

Daniel said the number one saying of all time relating to child/adult conflicts, which was," most kids have no respect for their parents." This is 100% true especially children of today. Most kids are not afraid of their parents like how it use to be. I can not count the number of times I saw a child disrespect their parents, and the parent actually let them do it. I know that if that had been me I would have been six feet under, and that probably goes for a lot of people my age. Daniel also said, "This causes them to smart off or even yell at their parents when they don't get their way," which is actually true. People say, "a team is only as good as its coach," which is the same for children. If parents start acting like parents again, then their child would not be so flipped mouthed.
Not only are children disrespectful, but they do not have outside fun as how I did when I was a child. Rachel said that when she played games with her friends, she, " ..would play hide and seek, red light green light." As a child I played those same games, however, I never see children outside playing those types of games anymore. Rachel also said, "I had a lot of fun growing up," and honestly I do not think children of today can truly say that because what they call fun is Candy Crush, Instagram, and Snapchat.

Child/adult conflicts

There are quite a few reason behind child and adult conflicts. Adults some times fail to realize that their child is a reflection of the parent and its kind of like arguing with a little them. I would say that most child /adult conflicts are mostly between daughter and mother. I don't know why the two always bump heads, but it could be because the two are too much alike. Sometimes the child could be right, when arguing with an adult, however, either way it goes the adult will always claim that they are right. This is only because they are adults and whatever they say must go, right? So when they are actually in the wrong, and if they know they are, the whole entire conflict will; escalate into something more than it is because adults hate to be proven right by a child. Conflicts between children and adults may very depending on the child and the adult. Some adults, a child can get away with saying certain things, but on the other hand some children can not do that. Child and adult conflicts will always be a thing because children sometimes have flip mouths and adults are sometimes wrong, but in most cases, coming from an adults perspective, they are right and the child should stay and his or her place, as just that, a child.

Childhood games

My favorite childhood game was "cops and robbers." It is a lot like freeze tag, except my porch was the jail and you had to have a friend bail, well, help you break out of jail without getting caught by the cop. Usually when you play games as a child you put each others foot in a circle and play "Eeny, meeny, miny, moe," to see who will be it, in cops and robbers, everyone who was in 7th grade and above had to be cops. This made it easier to be caught, which made it fun because it was a challenge. I remember playing this game all the time when I was a child. It was the only game that I actually enjoyed and went inside to tell my mom about. Now, in 2015, there are tons of cell phones and new games are coming out, and children are losing site of having fun out doors. Even though technology is a good thing, well at least to me it is, children should still go out side and play and they should try cops and robbers. I enjoyed it and I am sure other children would too.

How to make my own writing more emphatic

I feel as though my writing is already clear, but I may be wrong. If I am, then to make my writing more clear to my audience, I may need to put the most important ideas at the end of the sentences.(How to write English) If I put the main points in the beginning that will be helpful to the reader and it will keep them interested in my writing. I should keep the end short as in not adding new information to my conclusion. Also, I could have more authority within my writing, which will cause the reader to believe, or at least feel that I know what I am talking about, and allow then to want to read on. These things would help me to make my writing more emphatic, if not already.

Role of guns in America

Guns in America has pros and cons. Having a gun to protect yourself and your family is good to have because you never what somebody could wake up one day and try to do. a small hand gun would be appropriate but not a machine gun or other guns that are over the top, that most people wish to have, but that is not necessary. In that case having guns is a pro, but when it comes to cons, there a few such as, children or teen getting a hold to them, people just showing off there gun for fun or worse, to use them in unnecessary ways. Some people with guns use them to scare others and to be seen with it. Some people do not use it in the right way, which is bad because that is the way most Americans use their guns. Like stated before the role of guns can be positives, but the way people are and how they abuse the privilege sort of make the role of having a gun a negative thing, when it really shouldn't have to be.

Conflict I had with someone in my family

I'm usually the one who tries to prevent conflict with my family but when it does happen it usually is with my little brother. We are always arguing and fighting. My mom always says that it is only because we love each other. I do love him but he does get on my nerves a lot. One time we got into a fight because I was already upset about something I can't remember right now, but he was making it worse by once again getting on my nerves. So, we got to arguing and he threw my bag down on the ground so we fought. You know, normal sister brother fighting. I ended up scratching his face leaving a scare that is still there a little bit. My little brother Gervon, is 14 years old now and we do not fight as much anymore. I guess he has stop "stunting" me and I stopped "stunting" him.

Two colleagues' posts about family or Wikipedia topic

Eric stated that, "My relationship with my mother and father is a lot like Mannings relationship with his mother and father ," this is pretty surprising because I am the same way sort of. My mom and I are like Manning and his father. I didn't know a lot of people had that relationship. Its not sad that we do not have a strong "friendship base" relationships with their parents because, well to me your parents are not supposed to be your friend, but some my argue differently. Alexus said, " Your relationship with  your family should be strong," I 100% agree with that because, well its in plain sight, it should. Your family is sometimes all you have so its better to keep those bridges up instead of burning them down. Even though the relationship between my mother and I is physical and that we really do not talk about the deep stuff like my personal life, we still communicate and we have our own special bond and we are always going to be a family.
I know this may be off subject, but I assure you that what I am about to say relates. I am still trying to figure out what to do with my life as far as my degree. I at first wanted to be a nurse and like Alexus said, "A nursing home is a place for people who don't need to be in a hospital but cant be cared at home," that is where I thought I wanted to be, but what about "doing something you love, so you'll never work a day in your life" So after putting more thought into it, I am thinking about New media and Communications, however I am still iffy about that. Eric also said, " I never would have thought goes into the production and behind the scenes work of filmmaking," and right about now that my be me. I say that because that is something that I would consider and then in the long run fall in love with it.

Information I learned about my Wikipedia topic

My wiki topic was on Apartment 143, which is horror film that was released in 2011. The only thing that I have learned about it is basically everything from just watching the movie. However, I did learn about the producers. After reading post on IMDB,  I was able to learn more about the producers and the production companies. I also learned what the original title came from. I looked it up and found out that it means to escape. Another interesting thing that I learned, that was obvious, if you watched the movie is that, Rodrigo Cortés, purposely, " exposed the audience to some wild supernatural activity within the first 15 minutes of the movie, and the attempted terror turmoil’s really don’t slow much beyond that point, said by Matt Molgaard in Besthorrormovies.com" Most producers make the audience wait about half way within the movie to start the action, but Rodrigo Cortés wanted to make a more realistic scene.

Changing relationship with your nuclear family, using quote from Manning's article

My mom and I so what get a long I think its neutral because its not like we do not get a long but then it again I am not saying that we do so its kind of a blank space there. i love her like to death but she isn't someone who I'd talk to about my problems or my struggles. She is hairlines and we have a few laugh well a lot of laughs almost all the time. Manning said that, "Our communication was physical." That is sort of like how my mom and I are. I mean, laughing is a verb right? and it could be physical, I think it is. We never talk like those mother/ daughter talks that most people have. We just make jokes and laugh at then or I would ask my mom to do ridiculous things for my amusement. It sounds like a pretty nice relationship, but it still lack the bond that teenage girls should have with their mothers. Maybe one day we'll get there when I am much older than I now.

2 posts from your colleagues, using quotes from each post

After reading Daniel's blog about what he has learned about his wiki topic, I actually learned a bit more about him. Daniel said, "I've learned that there's several different ways to hunt boar hogs ," after reading that and also the entire blog post, I now know that he likes to hunt and that he hunts as a hobby. I never met someone who actually hunts for fun. So, that was pretty interesting. I also noticed that we have the same views on gay marriage. In the gay married blog post he wrote, "Well first off, Im against gay marriage! ," this may same harsh, but I 100% agree with him. I do not support it but it will happen away. There is no way around it even if it is "sick that a man can like another man and the same for women."
In Eric's blog post about finding humor in a strange situation, I agreed with him when he said, "Depending on certain situations you encounter in life it doesn't hurt to find humor to maybe lighten the situation", because in life, you will experience some downfalls and the best medicine is laughter, so why not laugh at a situation? It may lighten up the mood. I also agreed with him in his post about men and women stereotypes. "Men stereotype woman more than vise versa." That is actually true, well to me its true because I normally see and hear men stereotyping women everyday rather than women stereotyping men.

what makes an effective introduction to a Wikipedia article

I think that an effective introduction would be to first explain the topic so that readers will know what the overall article is about. The introduction should also state facts, be very detailed, and flow efficiently. These things will help the reader to grasp and take in everything so that they will not be lost while reading through the article. The introduction should not jump right into a topic without first taking baby steps. You have to ease your readers into your article and the introduction is supposed to walk the reader through it.

What I have learned about my Wikipedia topic

I learned that for one, the original article didn't have any detailed information in it and for two, how to edit my article and expand it. I also learned that the movie "Apartment 143,"  was originally a Spanish movie and was created again for English speaking countries. Emergo was the name the producers gave at first, which is Latin for escape. They changed the name but still kept Emergo as a substile. It is a really good movie especially the end, and if any of you have a Netflix account do not hesitate to watch "Apartment 143" for yourself.

Men and Women streotypes

This is a topic that is up for a big discussion, but in my opinion, men seem to have the upper hand when it comes to stereotyping. Women stereotypes are worse than those of a man because women are usually "supposed" to be under a man. In other words, "This is a man's world". Regardless of anything, people should not label anyone a stereotype, however, it is apart of life and there isn't any escaping. I don't like how people stereotype women, especially women of today. I know that some women can be "messed up", but that isn't all of us. When people see ONE person or a small group of people or even the women on hip-hop videos, people automatically become fortune tellers and can tell your whole life style to you. That is not true. I have been stereotyped a lot and most of the time I am the opposite of what people think I am or what I do. Now, for guys, I don't too much like it but at the same time I am not one so I don't know how to feel about it, since men and women are stereotyped differently. What I can say is that maybe most men do not care what people think because they know its going to happen and that there isn't much too do about it. Women, on the other may care because I do sometimes.

Finding humor in a strange situation.

I have seen many strange situations through life and yes, all of them have been pretty funny. One day my boyfriend Tre and I was riding the train to six flags. It was a Sunday and two men have just gotten out of church. Now they were arguing for the longest about $10. So, they were right next to Tre and I, and they acted like they were about to fight, but they didn't. So one guy says "I don't care what you do, you better have my $10 in the next stop" and the other guy says, "I don't have your $10, so leave me alone". This went on for about 3 stops. The guy who wanted the $10 was threatening the other guy that he was going to fight him, if he doesn't give him the money. Lets not forget that they BOTH just got out of church. So, as the ride went on the got into each other's faces and started yelling and then at the next stop they got off and right before we could see any thing serious, the train zoomed away.

Analyzes the organization of my Wikipedia article

In my wiki article, I used the template that was given to me by Mr. Hamon. It is broken down into six parts, Analysis of Article, Reading List, Revised paragraph from article, Production Companies, Ratings, and Original Contribution. In  my Analysis of Article, I simply put what the article needed more of or was lacking. The Reading List is all the sites that I read and analyzed. I Revised the original paragraph from article into my own words and I gave more details than the original. I supplied the productions companies so that people can know that information, which was left out in the original article. With the original contribution, all I did was add what I fixed about the article.

Readings in my Wikipedia topic

What I mostly read about in my Wikipedia topic was reviews and summaries of the 2012 horror film "Apartment 143(Emergo)." Some reviews were the same as other but most of them were different. I liked the ones that were different because it gave me an insight on how certain people viewed the movie. It also helped me with research on how to explain the plot and add more to the original synapsis that was already given on Wikipedia.
The other readings that I came across were summaries of the movie. Even though the movie to everyone will begin and end the same, some people had a different outlook of the summary. Since they were mostly all different I just decide to watch the movie once more and give accurate information based off the actual movie. My reading was somewhat all over the place because I wanted to see a variety of different views on the movie so that I can compare and contrast them.

The value of MLA

MLA has been adopted by many teachers, professors, and universities. MLA is a guided format that makes grading for professors a lot easier. It is valued because its is a form of citation used in college to give credit when using a source. The format for MLA can be found on may websites, however some sites do not use the correct citation format. MLA is an important format to know and learn for college and beyond. Here is a legit website that was suggested to me by Mr. Hamon himself, https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/747/01/.

Sloppy vs Neat People

After reading about sloppy people and neat people, I came to realize that I am a neat person. Most of the things that was said about neat people described me perfectly well. I didn't like how Britt made it seem like a sloppy person was better than a neat person because it sounds like she was more for sloppy people than neat people. Even though she looks down on neat people and think that they are mean and "stuck up", I think that part is false. As a neat person, yes I do show characteristics that Britt mentions, however, I am not mean. I keep my recipes for taxes purposes only because, well why else would you keep them? I also hate when things "collect dust", I am always cleaning and making sure things are neat and organized. My family thinks I have obsessive-compulsive disorder, but trust me I don't, well at least I don't think I do. Regardless I am a neat person, and that just happens to be one of my personality traits.

Gay marriage

In Colson's "Gay Marriage/ Societal Suicide, stated that, "Marriage is the traditional building block of human society, intended both to unite couples and bring children into the world. Tragically, the sexual revolution led to the decoupling of marriage and procreation; same-sex "marriage" would pull them completely apart, leading to an explosive increase in family collapse, out-of-wedlock births—and crime. " I agree with that statement because the whole purpose of marriage along with all the other purposes is to unite couples and bring children into the world. I personally do not believe in it I do not think is right. I know I may seem like a bad guy because of that but to be honest, I do not support it. I think that same sex partners are pushing it too far. I know how Americans think that we have "came up in the world", but really its going down. I am a Christian and I could  quote scriptures and what not but I won't. I have nothing against gay couples, just to put that out there. I just think marriage is too far since its already not okay in the first place. At the end of the day, I won't support it and gay couple will marry and life goes on.

Writers voice in wiki articles

A writer's voice in a wiki article should be firm. It should have authority within the article to either persuade, convince, or to grab the readers attention. Writers should make sure that when they are writing that they know what they are writing about and the purpose of the writing. Once the writer knows these things, the writers voice would be clear. Writer's need to have tone in their voice as well. Writers should choose a tone appropriate to what they are writing so things sound right. This allows the reader to understand where the writer is coming from. The tone could be either a disagreement (agree to disagree), since we are talking about wiki or agreeing with someone. These are just some examples on what the tone for a wiki article can be, this not what it is limited to. So, when you are writing a wiki or editing a wiki article make sure that you (the writer) has authority and some kind of tone in your voice. Also you should be "stuffy" focus on the information only.

Wiki topic

My Wiki topic is going to be about Nursing since that is my indicated major. I am to add more information to a "start" or "sub" article on Wikipedia. Those are like beginners articles. Nursing is a popular topic and I may have to narrow it down to what I want to do specifically. However, if I can I may want to do my wiki topic on what I am interested in that does not have to do with my major. Note that I am only interested in nursing for the money, not for the love of it. If not then like stated before my wiki topic will be about nursing and possibly about needle nurse.

Why we use Wikipedia ...(How you handle a reader in Wikipedia)

When you Bing or Google something what usually come up first, Wikipedia right? Its usually, if not always the first thing. Wikipedia is mostly used by students looking up information about a certain topic. Wikipedia provides the information to the reader which is us, the students. The way that you handle a reader in Wikipedia is by providing information to the reader and making sure your points are clear and effective for that reader. So remember, when you are using Wikipedia, you are of course expecting information, and when you are providing it you are handling the reader in a way of providing them with correct and clear information.

How I handle a reader in my Doc1

I kind of didn't understand this question from workshop 5, however I'll try my best to answer it. I would handle a reader in my Doc 1, by I guess making sure they know what I am talking about and gives me back the response I want out of them. Once, or if you read my doc 1, you could give me feed back on it as well give me some feedback on it. I would want the reader to not only understand by Doc 1 but to also take a lot of advice that I am giving in it as well. If you'd like to read it you can request it in the comments. I am also handling them by providing them with information about a certain topic.

How my Doc2 will handle its thesis

I believe that my Doc 1 handled its thesis the way it says to in the "Little Brown Compact Book". I say that because, what better my Doc 1's thesis summarizes the main points of the paper as a whole. My thesis is clear and flows correctly, therefore its understandable. A thesis statement allows my paper to be more clear and in that way the points are clear. I believe it flows well within my introductory paragraph to specify my subject and points, and implies my attitude. Read my thesis and let me know what you think!

(Wiki Topic) Nursing...What I need to know.

I already know what an RN is, however I do not know about every detail of an RN. I currently went on Wikipedia to review and research information about an RN. What I found out was that RN's practice is determined by the legislation government by local governing nurses. I am unsure why RN's practices are determined by the legislation government of local governing nurses, however in my wiki topic it said that it was regulated by a council, which I am taking as it has restricts and "laws" to it that need regulation. RN's need to meet minimum practices hours and continue education in order to keep their registration. I didn't know that nurses needed to to that. I thought once you were a RN then you're just that, a RN. If you went to school passed and did what you are supposed to and make into and out of nursing school, isn't that enough? Nursing of course is a very broad field, and is very competitive. As of 2011 there were 2.24 million RN's in China. In the US, we had 3 million nurses. This proves that yes, nursing is very board. In the US most RN's are expected to have at least an Associates degree or a certification. All nurses have to take the NCLEX-RN in order to receive their licence. An associates degree usually takes up to 3 years due to the prerequisite courses during the first years of college.
The above information, after reading about it on Wikipedia, was not so much a shock to me. I guess I already knew most things about an RN, well at least half of the basics. Even though most of the information about being a nurse seems hard and seems like it will take forever, and that one should change their mind, I am still going for it. How to use writing as a tool for learning

Using writing as a tool is a great essential to learning because it allows us as students to think critically. This helps us transform from passive to active learners. Most writing activities aim to promote the use of critical thinking strategies. With writing being a tool for learning, we are able to expand out thinking. We are able to use writing to explore. The main goals to exploratory writing are to clarify thinking, ask questions, reflect, and explore ideas.
Using this tool helps us developed how to explain, within our writing. We can write to explain ourselves, to understand concepts through review and analysis. These are all apart of using writing as a tool. This tool not only helps students learn how to write, but it teaches them how to write to learn.

So far so good

Hey guys, so this is my free choice blog post. I wanted to talk to you guys about how college is for you so far. For me its pretty okay. I don't have any problems so far accept my dorm hall. Gateway is really loud and I have to over to Regents in order to do my work. I am trying to move to Regents, however I have to wait until next week.
My classes are okay as well. My FYE class seems like there is more work then my actual core classes. I thought that FYE was supposed to be fun. It isn't boring, but its a lot of work for a freshmen 101 class. My experience so far has been good. I am hardly in my room, mainly because its too loud there, but mostly because I like to go out and have fun. I am always at the student life center playing ping pong and rock climbing. I like to play Mortal Kombat, but my friends aren't very good at it. I also do MMA ( mixed martial arts) in the wellness center.
Classes aren't hard for me, its just that I have a lot of free time which is sometimes distracting. I say that because I only spend an hour and 15 minutes in class and the rest of the day I am free. So I made  a schedule, where I can spend at least two hours studying the material that I have learned in class.
So yes, I would say college is going good so far, and that it isn't so bad. I know its only been less than a month, but you never know. It may be this mellow throughout the semester. So, enough about how college is going for me, I like to read how it is going for you guys!

Wikipedia WAS a crutch

Wikipedia, has always been a source for me to get answers from. I never thought about actually reaching a subject and putting my knowledge into an article. So I have decided to do my own set of researching and actually click edit and save. After seeing how people from all over the world come in and talk about their articles, I realized that I can make an impact on the world too. I can go from just using wiki as a crutch to participating in the conversion. Instead of using wiki as training wheels, I can use it to impact people. How cool would it look to write an article forget about it and then come back to it and see how many people read and researched and contributed to the conversation that you started.

What I didn't know about Wiki...

From watching the videos about Wikipedia, I found out some interesting stuff. For instance, anyone can go on wiki and give his or her opinion, which is kind of crazy because when people comment on things and give their opinions things turn ugly. However, in wiki, people do not do that. They want to read about your opinion and see how you view a certain top. Another thing I like about it is that you do not need to sign up to anything to edit something. It is as simple as 1.2.3. All you have to do is click edit and save. Their aren't any nasty comments nor do you have to put your personal information in. When I was in high school my teachers hated wiki, but really it is a conversation on a subject to an audience. Doesn't that sound like the communications triangle? And how do you learn to write? By writing, and how do you write to learn? By writing for yourself then learning the language and learning how to write more formally. And to that, wiki allows you to do those things. Its pretty cool looking at it in that way.

How you write to learn

After watching a few videos on how to write, I developed my own little point of view of that topic. In the videos it stated that the way to learn how to write is that you have to write for yourself then for others. We all know that the only way to write is by writing. So my little add on was that you write to learn so that you are in the know. Asking questions, which was said in the videos is a great way to know. It is better to ask questions than to open up your mouth and sound ignorant. Writing to learn learn gives you the opportunity to know the language. You can do this by A, listing and B, writing about it. So when you are writing to learn learn it is for you. You begin to learn how to write for yourself and then you will be able to write more formally. When you are able to have a conversation, not based off memory, but off knowing, you have learned from writing.

Professional online image

Hey guys! So on Monday the 24th in class our teacher Mr. Hamon talked to us about an online professional image. As we all know, we need to get our act together and start preparing for one. My group and I started our Doc 1, and it is about just that. We talk about the importance of it, how to maintain an online image, and we also provided tips about. I won't go in to greater detail because you all should read it yourself, but the main parts are the ones listed above. We hope you enjoy our Doc 1 on professional online images.

My profession

My profession is nursing. I want to be a nurse for the money. I know that may not sound inspirational, but it is very motivating. I say that it is motivational because who doesn't want to make money. I wanted to make a decent salary and I researched and talked to a couple of nurses about the salaries and I really liked the numbers. So that is why I choose nursing as my profession.

All about Shawnise

Hello classmates! My name is Shawnise Addison, but my friends just call me Addison ( I guess its easier) My major is nursing, so hopefully I make straight A's so that I can be considered. I'm a really cool person and I like pop music and dubstep, some might call me an "Oreo". I didn't want to live on the Cochran campus because of the gnats( I hate gnats), however, I did want to live on the Macon Campus. I am from the city, Atlanta, and I was born in Minnesota. I like to do research on pretty much everything, especially on things I have to purchase. I am not a loud person nor am I a person who likes to "turn up". Not to say that I am boring or "too safe", I just like to chill. I am a mellow person. It's okay with me to go out to parties, but not all the time. I like to put school first because that's the main reason that I am here. I am Christian, and  I do not judge people on their beliefs. I like to draw, but I can't draw. I know that sounds weird but I'm saying that I like the idea of drawing and I wish I could do it well or at all for that matter. I also like to watch cartoons, I don't care how old I am, by the way I am 18. I will not be aged! That does not mean I am immature, it means that I like cartoons, that's it. I do not have a temper nor am I rude. I talk a lot once you get to know me other than that I may be quiet. I am considered a nerd but that's okay because nerds always wins! Well that's all about me, I look forward to knowing about all of you.
